Episode 37 – You’re a Teen One, Mr. Ginch

…aaaaand a rook, in a pear treeeeee!

Egg up some nog and yule down a log, as the Parliament closes out the year in holiday style, reviewing a zany Bob Haney take on a Dickens classic in Teen Titans #13.

Guest appearances galore, as everyone from the Whos down in Whoville to that other fab foursome from across the pond drop by for some holiday cheer and a choice seat at the first annual parliamentary Christmas pageant.

And that, Stanley Dover, is what Christmas is all about!

Episode 28 – When the Carnival Is Over…

Is this the end of the Parliament?!?!

Listen in as we shed off our shiny silver outer coat and spin a summer long bronze age cocoon. Metaphoric and metamorphic… now that’s class.

So curl up in your Fox den and let the Schwartz be with you, and always remember – no matter what you believe:

Science says you’re wrong.”

Episode 22 – When Worlds Didn’t Collide

Who is Gardner F. Fox and why is he saying these terrible things to me?

Fire up some sand grains and put those cyrotubers on ice, as the Parliament kicks off Memorial Day with a slangariffic Silver Age Spectre-acular, reviewing Justice League of America #’s 46 and 47.

Whether it’s a gesture of peace from a Dark Knight sans cowl, or some hearty glad-handing by a zombified friend of the people, this one won’t rest until the immortal question is answered of why we can’t all get along.

Like peace, man! Real peace!

Episode 20 – The Edge of a New Frontier

The Parliament pauses in their Silver Age reviews to remember an artist who truly captured its spirit.

Join us as we look back on the career of Darwyn Cooke, with a magical interlude from The New Frontier #6 and his own “secret origin” from Solo #5.

Per the announcement on darwyncooke.blogspot.com, his family directs memorial donations to:

The Canadian Cancer Society – http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR?px=6843246&fr_id=20868&pg=personal
and Hero Initiative – http://www.heroinitiative.org

Episode 9 – T’under ’n Lightnin’

It’s a Crisis on Earth P!

Looks like the evil Parliament of a parallel world must have taken control… how else would you explain another Johnny Thunder episode?

Travel back in time (a few times actually) for a review of Justice League of America #’s 37 and 38, as we meet a thick-headed thunder thug, battle a shirtless Shrek, and fail to prevent the murder of Batman’s parents.

All this… plus a blatant attempt to get more feedback by staging a contest. Say, you… write in already!

Episode 8 – 7th Hour of the 7th Day of the 7th Month on Episode… D’oh!

Say… you’d think with a whole Parliament working on this, they could at least get the numbers right! Take an ostensibly comical journey back to the Golden Age for a spotlight on Johnny Thunder, with reviews of his debut in Flash Comics #1 and his bumbling day out in New York World’s Fair Comics #2.

Daisy Darling? Peachy Pet? All this alliteration and no Gardner Fox? Oh wait… there he is… writing the framing sequence for All-Star Comics #3.

Looks like even the Thunderbolt was tickled pink with this one!

Episode 7 – Defender of the Fate

By the compass of Murphy Anderson!

Join the Parliament as they continue their spotlight on Doctor Fate, reviewing his Stockholm Syndrome origins from More Fun Comics #’s 64 and 67, then doing a triple axel lutz to his second Silver Age tryout in Showcase #56.

Rubies and jaspers and bloodstones! Oh my! Will they ward off a fear of pizza and a psychedelic psycho?

This episode is guaranteed to be more fun than a punch in the face!

Episode 6 – Gotta Have Fate

All Fate… all the time!

Join the Parliament for an awesome adventure across the ages, reviewing the Silver Age reintroduction of Doctor Fate in Showcase #55, then dialing back the clock to his Golden Age debut in More Fun Comics #’s 55 and 56.

Along the way you’ll practice some Bayou zombie-talk with a marshland man-thing, witness the wonder wizard and the wonderful Wotan exchange energy-atoms, and – if you listen very closely – learn exactly what an eagle sounds like.

Yes, yes, Gardner Fox, we’re all very impressed with how polymathematical your attic is.

Episode 5 – The Old One-Two

The Golden Age Parliament? I thought they only existed in comic books!

Join Thomas and Melanie as they cross the vibrational barrier to Earth-2, reviewing Justice League of America #’s 21 and 22.

A modified Yul Brynner? A Felix falsetto? Seventy seven shy soldiers? By the time this story is over, you’ll be so confused you won’t know the difference between decay and rot… or will you?
